I was stationed at the 33rd Field Hospital in 1974 t0 1976, I have looked at more websites than I can count and I can't find a unit patch. Can anyone help me. As I recall it was Burgandy with a white or blue cross in the center.

Not sure if this is the same Heeney that spent a lot of time with Dave Brown who married a female MP over at the 69th ADA, as I also remember a George Fosdick who went from dealing to a christian, Heberle King, and a little GI From Louisianna who always looked like he needed a shave. The guys at Emery seemd to have a problem with me because I went to Stuttgart Hospital and started a bible study, which was condemned because I was only 1 year in the Lord. I still have my faith but lost the belieft that was instilled in me when at 2 years old in Christ I got a Devil worshipper to give me his black bible and I traded mine for, brought it to my elder and he admonished me for bringing evil into his house. I burned the black bible but also was asked to leave my group as they said I was of Satan.... Shame that friends do that, I prayed and was happy with what I know I did and suggested they pray but instead they kicked me out... Sorry it still is a open sore I try and let it heal.. and pray for all people every day... Bob Brien

Hi you all , Iused to be stationed from 1958-1962 at Leighton Barracks and at that time I had been a few times patient at the Army Hospital Wuerzburg. Also my two children a daughter 1958 and a son 1960 had been born at this Hospital. I returned later on to the University of Wuerzburg to study with the GI-Bill, Dentistry ,Economics and law.I now run the "Wuerzburg Association of free Doctors,Dentists & Phamacists"throughout Germany, Austria & Switzerland. We would like to take over the US-Army Hospital as a "Wellness-Clinic"for aesthetic medicine with a special station for the implatation of third teeth. We will take over a Bank in California which had been founded in 1999 and with 7 lawyers and cpa,s offices in 7 States we will give out "No-Name-Stock"- 10 Dollar Stock for One Dollar. This money will be taken to purchase a Bank in Switzerland and with the money we hope to collect within a relative short time we will take over the Hospital and turn it into the Clinic we favor. What was the name of Capt. Autry's assistant? I was stationed at Emery (69th ADCOM) 1970-'71. I was a dope smoking drunk, lost and on my way to Hell. But in 1978 I meet the Lord and I gave my life to Him. I remember while I was stationed at Emery the Chaplin's assistant help me many times but I did not like him and what he stood for at the time. I just want to thank him for loving me even thou I hated him and his God...I just want to apologize now, and thank him, for being Christ like to me at that time.

Chaplain Autry has written a memoir: "Gun Totin' Chaplain: A True Memoir". It is published by Airborne Press in San Francisco. He also has a blog on blogger.com titled "I Am A Chaplain". Do a search on his name and several other things will pop up. You might want to contact him regarding who his chaplain asst was in 70-71.

It brought back many memories for me as well. BTW the shower room looks better now than I remembered it, and I was there (1973) which was just a year or so after it was renovated.
Have you viewed the other video on site? It is located under the Videos tab at the top of the page. It shows what Leighton Barracks looked like in 2008, just before it was closed by the US Army.

Barnabas, where will the medical care be provided for the US Army troops in Bavaria once the hospital closes? What will be the disposition of the hospital and its grounds?
Thanks for the history and its update!

Cheryl's friend, Ursula, from Stuttgart, says the very same thing. Ursula believes we have many, many acquaintances but very few truly good friends. Cheryl and I are lucky to have her as one of our very good friends. We need to bring her with us when we come to see you.
Love,
Hal (and Cheryl)
