"Welcome aboard. Did you ever go to the Coffee House at Emery?"No I never did. I did not even know it existed. I was either drunk or drugged up on hash during my time at the 69th group headquarters. I was 32 years old when the Lord found me, it took that long for someone to present the Gospel in a clear and concise matter for me to either except it or reject it—I accepted it. As I grew in the Lord I always remembered the (Capt. Autry) Chaplains assistant who help me find an apartment off base. He was the only person who ever went out of his way to help me my whole time in the Army 1970-'71. So—after 39 years I would like to thank him for being kind to me when no one else would. I remember people thought he was nuts, crazy and religious because he was not one of the crazy troops that engaged in all the stupid stuff that happend after hours on base and in the barraks, all of you who were there at Emery Kaserne during that time knows full well what I'm talking about! I know now he was being persecuted for his beliefs and his Christ like lifestyle. Does any one know his name or how I could thank him for his kindness so many years ago. I think he would get a kick out of it knowing that brief act of kindness on his part was remember some many years later. Or even Capt. Autry's contact number? Thank you. Do you find this valuable? |
